Questions about cruise, please help!!!!?
I am going on a trip for 4th of July weekend to the Bahamas with my fiancee and we are trying to keep the cost down, my travel agent suggested “Imperial Majesty” but i looked at the reviews and it looks like its bad. Can you tell me if you had a good experience! also if we book with Royal Caribean is it worth to upgrade to ocean view? i dont want to because i dont think we will be in the room but my fiancee insists. i have never been on a cruise! help please!
i also read that the best deals are last minute 0nes. is that true? and if we book a guarantee room is it possible to get an upgrade?
Thanks for all the help to all experienced Cruisers!!!!!!
An ocean view is up to personal preference. Interior is much cheaper. The only problem I have with interior cabins is, they get very dark. That means it very easy to sleep well into the morning. If you want to get up and make the most of the day, this probably isn’t very ideal. On the other hand, that’s really the only time the window will come in handy, unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your cabin. If you don’t plan on sitting in your cabin most of the day (most people don’t), then maybe an interior cabin will work. But if the wife insists…
If you book a guarantee, there is a chance you will get upgraded. It’s not set in stone, but the possibility is there. You’d get upgraded if your cabin category (interior for example) got sold out. Then you would be upgraded for free. Just keep in mind that the cruise line chooses your cabin with a guarantee. So if there’s a particular spot you want to be, it might be better to select a specific cabin. Again, the choice is yours. There are pros and cons to either decision.
Last minute deals can be cheap, but not necessarily. I think it really depends on the cruise, the ship, the line, etc. For the 4th of July, you probably won’t be getting any big discounts, if any at all.
