Please help, have to send my dog Grand Bahama Island to Alabama?
Hello, I currently live in the Bahamas and back to the states to take 3 months my first baby. I'll take the dog with me, but most airlines are marked will not fly after May 15 due to heat. I have to take him to Alabama. I know that fly breeders puppies / dogs sold throughout the year. How do they do? Thanks in advance for any advice. It is roughly 40 pounds and is a mixture of races, which could take a boat to Florida, but is one hour and 15. Fort unity. Lauderdale and I will be 7 mths pregnant and prefer to fly with us, both directly Alabama, if possible.
If breeders are flying throughout the year, then they are hand-carry them on board, no checks or hold load luggage. The airlines have embargoes heat beginning at a specified date (varies by airline), however, does not mean they will not fly * all *. What it means is that if the temperature exceeds a certain point, they will not be sent as cargo (eg 85 Fahrenheit). The best thing to do is check with the airlines. Your best option might be simply to transport from GBI to Florida then drive from Florida to Alabama.
