Places of wonder and Psalm 40
Psalm 40 says the following regarding the version of the Bible New International Version:
title = "Go to"> a] 1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and mire;
set my feet upon a rock
and gave me a firm place standing.
3 He put a new song in my mouth
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
4 Blessed are those who
that makes the Lord his trust,
that do not resemble the proud,
those who will turn to false gods. [
5 Many, O Lord my God,
are the wonders he has done,
the things they have planned for us.
None can compare with you;
if I were to talk and discuss their works,
that would be too much to declare.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not,
but my ears are open
burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin is not required.
7 Then I said: "Here I am, I have come-
is written of me on the roll.
8 I want to do your will, O God;
thy law is within my heart. "
9 I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly;
Do not seal my lips, O Lord,
as you know.
10 Do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not hide their love and loyalty
of the great assembly.
11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
Your love and faithfulness always protect me.
12 For problems without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I can not see.
They are more than the hairs of my head
and my heart fails within me.
13 Be pleasure Save me, Lord;
Come quickly, Lord, help me.
14 May all who seek to take my life
shame and confusion;
Let all who desire my ruin
turn back in disgrace.
May 15 to which I say, "Aha, Aha!"
was horrified at their own shame.
16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
Let those who yearn for your salvation I always say,
"The Lord is great!"
17 As for me, I am poor and needy;
that the Lord thinks of me.
You art my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay.
The main theme of this psalm is the psalmist's relationship to the plans, the wonders and God's thoughts, in spite of countless difficulties and anxieties that surround the psalmist David. The wonders are represented as a place or places as may be attacked by a gum, such as when David said he set my feet upon a rock, which is a representation of a wonder or wonders that could actually put your feet on.
Verse 2 says, "He lifted me out of the pit of despair, the mud and mire;. Set my feet upon a rock and gave me a firm place to stay"
Not would effectively be a double aspect east. One is to ask the Lord out of a bad situation or how bad it is a priority and the proximity of first, but at the same this time asking for help or escape, we also ask that you set a good situation metaphorically expressed by the setting of David's feet on a rock, which would representative of something solid, tangible, and even large, this psalm actually be a place of wonders. I might well say this is bad or is not the best situation for me, as they begin the final say as to what to pray and seek help for amending. This metaphor can also be applied to what is best for our body as well, could be applied to healing. I'm not just asking God to get me out of the poor condition of my back, I'm asking for a back pain free good and that create this situation, as the rock would be a return healthy and fully functional and pain free. Healing does not only put me out of a bad situation, but it makes me in good standing in good health. For example, God would have us swimming in water that is cold for us. He is also doing the best for our physical according to this metaphor. Wonders of the Lord are somewhat according to the Psalm that we set. He will get us to experience the wonders that could not be adequately handled. So again using the example of perhaps a wonderful sea could actually swim in the temperature would have to be a certain range to make it comfortably or at all. The earth itself is a wonder that is meant to be an ally of living in many parts of humanity.
Someone could apply to any number of life situations that could be good, but could also have a way of letting us metaphorically shipwrecked or in the mud … Of course, no will want to leave the swamp, but if you feel so stuck in the mud, the focus may be entirely escape route they are looking for in their attempt to escape the more also what escapes and what could be places of hope that are perhaps more difficult to contemplate when you're stuck. A dictionary definition of mud is. "An area of wet, wet, muddy ground;. A swamp" You can go from one to another difficulty, or at least do not know yet that you will find a clear as trying to escape and mud will not give good traction, either to what is good and what you like or prefer. Therefore, not only discouraging but also a situation where it is difficult to move. You see this in the movies sometimes, people running threw a thick forest trying to escape the monster only to find a river roaring as another obstacle to the exit, the situation is constantly feeling stuck. What you want to do when in a situation that qualifies as attached, is to keep prayer twice even though it might be so concerned about the terrible situation you are trying to escape all that and all they are thinking of leaving and escape from this problem. They also focus on prayer asking the Lord who created you, or for a great mp place where you can have your feet on the rock of wonder after being out of the mud, which indicates a situation that takes hold and is right for you. Have you heard the expression, you're all set, and this is what the Lord can do for you as well get in the mud, you can tune in places of great … I had talked to someone today who mentioned a conversation with someone with problems and said he just wanted more than anything else out of the conversation terrible This is an example of wanting a way smaller. But then, can ask the Lord for the good conversation rather than just escaping from the bad one, to maintain this dual nature prayer and great conversation itself can be an example of a place of wonder … An example of the New Testament is the Lord leads the blind in the village, and then give healing. First it took place, a place that had just bad news for him and could only be known as the blind man who always was, so was not just the disease, but the place seemed to also have a power over him. Then he created him with a cure which was now in a place of innovation and freshness, and even wonder where he had a great overall experience of healing, experience the healing of this blind man Jesus was regarded by most one way. Jesus saw that the place of healing was also important for this man and the wonder of healing for him, the place was also important, this Blind is also necessary to set foot on the rock.
Furthermore, this verse indicates what to look for in prayer as well. Do not look to God only to leave, but that is also configured with a convenient location and places of wonder the answer and that part of the answer to prayer may take you to another place, another situation, here the Psalmist described as a rock, but all described as miracles. The answer is not just a response I am looking dimensions, but a response that looks two times and I have to look like two times as you progress in prayer and waiting for response. Would be the opposite is true, that the Lord will take you to an undesirable situation, while giving you an answer, or how we feel he will inherently lead to a nice place and then bring it you need? If we say someone is prosing marriage, usually the person what they think is a wonderful place.
In verse 3 says: " put a new song in my mouth, many will see and fear and put their trust in God. "
One of the things to see and pray for the new, as Lord will bring in this other dimension. The Lord will always have something new. We ask the Lord for its novelty for the day, this, this. Due to this development, we are called to prayer to seek and find additional novelty and wonder of continuing this development. In the case of David, and many others are looking at will and put your trust in the Lord as well. This also relates to verse 1, Lord, to carry out the swamp, or an answer, too could use the tactic of making a positive situation of the quality and freshness, even in places of miracles and wonders … Responding to the sentence, such Once you're getting a fresh anointing blessing and healing in a way that is new, and the situation that triggers the response may be new. So we can discern that the Lord moves us into something that is new, as he answers us in a positive way.
For David, the rock was the Lord came to him. He came it in solid form, so you might actually enjoy the wonders of the Lord. Even in a negative way, as in the case of the Egyptians and wonders were sent on their way, also were in the midst of wonders, the wonders were there, like a swarm of locusts, and so on.
Verse 4 says, "Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, he does not look to the proud, who will turn to false gods." Prayer is our way of working towards trust in God and we must seek in relation to any possible problem. It seems that everyone is looking somewhere, of course, but if you want real blessing, look to the Lord and begin to trust.
Verse 5 says: "Many O Lord, the wonders he has done things you have planned for us, you can not have you, if I were talking and talking about them would be too much to declare.
This verse is speaking about the wonders of God as being addressed to or coming out of an individual and God does wonders to perform we would also be something new, even as you may recognize some of the wonders that have been there. In this verse, the idea of the wonders is that they are something out of the Lord's thoughts and plans for us, and referred to people who can actually set them. David says he set my feet upon a rock, and again the rock is a representation a miracle of God, that can actually be experienced and can be retreaded. We ante up our prayers for the wonders of God, and slides slightly higher in our contemplation of what God has done for us as we approach him in prayer to ponder the marvels and wonders that has to be a degree not yet known, it will be something new and something not previously experienced. We could ask God, what are the wonders you have for me today? The Wonders are also a place of discernment as they come from the thoughts and plans of the Lord according to this Psalm and the wonders can be seen as a way of discerning the thoughts and plans of the Lord. Historically wonders God had for his people. Why not God's wonders for you, then?
David in this verse can identify that the Lord has plans for him and many others. What is interesting here is that David was able to differentiate and identify the things God's plans. This statement is based partly on faith, because these plans are from verse 3 goes to the square of novelty from the point of view or the psalmist. Since the plans are new, not yet seen, but known to be a reality, as are the Lord of reality is derived. Most of us may wonder, are these plans for me, the world plans, plans another person, or God's plans? That would be almost impossible without the help and the help of personal prayer. What this verse also tells us is that while the participation in this process a little difficult to discern God's plan. David was able to discern the designs of God is sufficient for him to say he could talk to them and tell them. This is the general direction in which you want to move our relationship deepens and widens the sentence, however, remains very specific because Wonderland is something that is actually put on to David all the wonders that the Lord had for him. And the psalm talks about how even in the miry clay, this was also something that could be put on or trampled and experience and the wonders of the were so experimental as clay or mud. We know we are not looking for a great plan, but many plans that come from the Lord to us as individuals, as there are "great."
More Later in this psalm, David does just that, not hide or conceal, but they have wonderful works of God the great assembly and makes them talk and talk.
Verse 11 and 12 says, "Do not withhold your mercy from me, your love and your truth always protect me, for problems without number surround me, my sins have overtaken me, and I can not see. They are more than the hairs on my head and my heart fails within me. "
More or less, David is saying that he also may give up, unless the Lord will come threw. Mercy restraints he would hold what they need to survive these problems, no mercy would be any rain for the farmland … He can not see his way out of all these problems, which are literally a blinding storm from all possible directions and the challenge it faces is very difficult and insurmountable. He admits that he is or not. His own sins and not many, which just add to the difficulties and the storms around him blind. The Lord needs to address the situation of mercy and the quality of the Lord, what is needed relief will come.
Verse 13 says, "Want to save me O Lord, Lord, come quickly to my aid." Here are asking God to appear and show fairly quickly. Glad to help me, is an interesting way of approaching God. We mention the idea of prayer if it responds to the request pleases the Lord. What would you please, is something that would tell others, but you have to say in our prayers. You might say, with taste, Lord, give me a vacation in the Bahamas. Or if you like, I would like this change or a vision or some communication from you on this. If is pleasing to Thee, Lord, I would go to the beach today.
Correlating this with verse 5, is provided almost countless comes from the Lord David and others, however, the backdrop for all this to David just about numerous problems, so it might be the case for most people, But David was in place due to his rank and position. There is no way I could see her way up, over and around all this without the Lord's mercy love, the righteousness that comes forward in these situations. Therefore, the Lord's mercy is in itself a wonder, and miraculously we can raise a new vision that would otherwise unobtainable.
This is because at first for the lot of confusion in the mud, something David mentioned to fall on their enemies, as is the shame and confusion and misery as inevitable for them because they are not seeking the Lord. The things that David is also subject without the mercy of the Lord, who requested the prayer, unlike their enemies, but his appeal to the Lord, he moves away from these problems, but that are bothering you get stuck and are shocked to be in the same ruinous same situation or problems that tried to take David. David should have left alone. What we were trying to make David actually going to happen to them. Those who are the Lord's side, however, properly seek Him and trust Him, it will rewarded with happiness.
The final verse is 17, says: "But I am poor and needy, the Lord thinks of me," You are my help and deliver me, O my God, do not delay. "
Here David is improving on, the central issue in that he knows the Lord to think He is the key. The Lord helps them and delivers the thoughts of David. The delay final word in this verse indicates that the action is expected, the action could delay, but David is asking for it soon.
With all these prayers, we can be more specific as this Psalm is the Psalm gives titles general form of address, but the details may differ, we can ask and talk to the Lord about the wonders specific, certain thoughts, specific things He has done and can not and concrete things that we hope to do it for us, but sometimes may refrain from details and see the wonders that come from new specific thoughts and plans of the Lord in times and places of wonder.
David, at least aware of his sorry state since we can bare his soul and even without recourse to a mode of constant complaint, bring such situations to the Lord as we ask to amend the difficulties we are experiencing that is making the tracking in mud. We are setting up before the Lord that we have addressed and healed. David talks about what their problems are doing with it and could be many problems specified in detail that would not always be there now because if we only have the writings in the Bible that detail many but not all events involving David .. He says he can count the numerous plans of the Lord in verse 5 and you know that many of them were very specific with him in his own mind and memory.
He mentions that is failing, and not have the heart to go from the problems at the moment he is standing on. He is the recognition what is happening and what their current status is as overwhelmed with their problems and the strength of these problems have become overwhelming nature to him. In his appeal before the Lord who is willing or wanting to do his will, as mentioned in verse 9, he is arguing with God not only what God can do for him, but he is also asking what God wants him to realize that God's will, desires or what he wishes for him, is something that has a foundation of trust for him and the rock that you can put your foot in
The Lord's will, is something that comes from the thoughts and plans of the Lord, is something that has movement, as David asks the Lord do not delay and also to act quickly, with your help. He is asking for help quickly. The Lord's will is not a place of acceptance severe than it should, but it is wonderful to be personalized and experiential, in the realm of reality, sometimes miraculous, actually derived from the thoughts and plans customized to a person of the Lord, and they occur in places of wonder.
