does a U.S. citizen must have a passport to go to the Bahamas or cruise carrebean?
my boyfriend doesn't have a passport, but I do. want to planning a cruise vacation but do not know if it would be a waste of time because he does not have its passport.i heard that all you have to have is their identification certificate.i birth and do not know .. I'm confused.
Dave D gave a good link, however, that link states that if you are coming by sea, only need your birth certificate and proof of citizenship in return. Therefore, if the U.S. leaves and only by sea, no air travel involved, do not need a Passport. Here is relevant section TRAVEL LAND AND SEA The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security page web:. * Currently U.S. citizens need to submit (a) a passport, passport card (available in spring 2008), or WHTI-compliant document, or (b) photo ID issued by the government as a driver's license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
