U.S. Navy Seal teams brief history
U.S. Navy SEALs have been a true story and a rich history of its own. The first veteran of strategic missions for men were operating Swimmers of the Office of Strategic Services or OSS who manned many missions before the Navy SEALs did.
Initial training
Initial training began in November 1943 at Camp Pendleton. This training camp then moved to Catalina Island in January 1944. Later within 3 months, training camp eventually moved to the Bahamas. These early versions of the U.S. Navy SEALs launched a number of teams Navy SEAL, such as flexible fins for swimming, diving teams closed-loop in nature, underwater swim team, and various swimming tools of combat.
The first mission of the OSS
It was in May 1944 that General Donovan, who was the current head of the OSS, separated from the whole team into several groups. Group 1 was headed by Lieutenant-Admiral Nimitz Choate to start as early Marina SEALs team in the Pacific Theater. In July 1944 the team became part of UDT-10. In the first submarine Navy SEALs operation performed by the OSS team five men were carrying out this task.
The granite Plan
It's like the Admiral Nimitz who formed this special strategy called "Plan of granite. To effectively combat in the Pacific region of the Navy SEAL operations requires a lot of strategy, skill and a lot of amphibious force. In general, the typical goals were coral atolls in the natural reefs that provide good coverage for the Navy SEALs. In the early part of November 1943, the SeaBees tried some blasting operations experimental underwater.
The need for unconventional warfare
It was President Kennedy's desire to initiate and develop a tactic of war unconventional. As part of this plan of the U.S. Navy initiated the first Navy SEAL teams in 1962 – Marina SEAL one and two. These teams were established from making personal underwater demolition teams and the first mission of the Navy SEALs was to make war guerrillas on the shore and marine environments.
The Vietnam War
Navy SEALs One of the first mission was the Vietnam War. Began shortly after Navy SEALs were established and the team is required to participate. Maritime operations other than clandestine, counselors taught the Navy SEAL the Vietnamese in the execution of these operations. The UDT started training for Navy SEALs also during this time. Was used for commands Biet Hai and trash Force Commando platoons located in Danang. It was in February 1966 that a small Navy SEAL team came to Vietnam to conduct missions involving direct action.
