Almost Free Cruise – Is it a scam?
Hi, I recently completed a study on a site called MyFreeCruise or something. I received a call today marketing "manager" and said it earned me a trip to the Bahamas and all I have to pay for port charges are $ 58. And each person who add to the trip after the other $ 58. Then I asked my credit card # so I could see it really can pay for the cruise. I talked to him for a while and you have verified that the corporation you work for is the owner of the cruise line and the Ramada Inn. A lot of other things was discussed, but I'm wondering, is it too good to be true? He offered to have a three-way call with an official from any of Ramada Inn, or the cruise line. If it's a scam, how wrong that can be damaged, and no FDIC insurance BOA thing that covers me if I was deceived? Thanks in advance:)
If you give your credit card # over the phone, give a credit card is not active. They could use the number to charge whatever they want. Never trust anyone, especially someone on the phone. Never give a credit card number or my social security number over the phone. It is not anything to protect if it is a scam. FDIC insurance is to protect the money you have in a savings account. This is not a savings account! There is nothing to protect you. In general, if it seems too good to be true, it is! One thing is to reach an agreement, another thing to lose money and give your credit card to a stranger. Might be working with someone who could pass for anyone who wanted. Someone got a hold of my credit card number and charged after a first trip to Washington for the weekend. I took it as it is doing. Luckily I caught it because I called the credit card company that the week to see what my available balance was. I was making a large purchase. The available credit is reduced, and I could not understand why. The card has been blocked. Hope this helps. Please do not trust anyone unless you know for your own safety.
