Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me with this question? I am from the Bahamas (my country is exempt of a?
tourist visa to Canada). I want to visit my boyfriend who lives in Canada.
I want to know what’s the longest amount of time I can visit him for (think it’s no longer than 3-6 months)? (so I can have the right time to leave when I meet the CSBA, so I wouldn’t have to change my returning flight).
Will getting a signed letter from him improve my chances of being allowed to enter Canada?
Do I have to show I can support myself? If yes, how do I show that?
I will take money with me, but he has basically elected to pay for simple things like food, and I will be living in his house.
If there is anything else I need to know, I would greatly appreciate it.

Immigration is no laughing matter. If you get it wrong you could end
up locked up at the airport in Canada as happened to me in another country after the travel agent said I did not need a visa for a simple
transfer onto another country.
Check out the official website and pay a vist to the embassy face to face if you can before you even book an airline ticket.
It is not worth taking any risks without the official people telling you what you can and cannot do.
