Bahamas flight charter

Bahamas flight charter
a couple of questions about charter jets?

does travel in a charter take longer than in a traditional jet?

does the jet stay put when you are at your destination? and if so, do you pay for the lodging/time to the pilot?

does the pilot have a co pilot?

are animals allowed on board?

what would be the best suggested charter company to go through?

we will be wanting to take two trips. One from arizona to the bahamas and one from arizona to ireland.our family has had a bad experience with flying on the reg. jet so we prefer to go private (someone died on the flight and two of my family members had panic attacks over it, my other cousin has social anxiety disorder so when she is around a whole bunch of people she just gets nervous) so it would just be more comfortable for all and much more pleasant to take our pvt jet.

Also, do you tip your pilots? and if so, how much?

The aircraft speeds vary depending on how much you are willing to spend. Three are some very fast private jets, and some more modest ones. In general, they fly at a speed similar to that of a commercial airliner. The cruising altitude is usually higher, nearly all citations for example fly around 40,000′ as opposed to 35,000 of most commercial airliners. That means a smoother ride.

What the airplane does depends on a number of things. If you charter, you pay based on what you are able to negotiate. Typically, if you are somewhere for one day or two, you’ll pay for the crews expenses plus about 2 flight hours a day. You can also pay to send the airplane back to its base and come pick you up when you are ready to come home. That is very expensive, but may be cheaper than paying to keep it where ever you stay. Some larger companies like Citation Air and NetJets have plans that allow you to just pay for what you use. It sounds good, but they over charge to start with, so the final quote price is what matters.

Most chartered jets require a crew of two. Some turboprops will give you the option of only having one pilot, but you can always request a second pilot at an additional cost.

Animals are up to the owner of the aircraft. Most all chartered aircraft are not owned by the chartering company, but by private owners who lease the aircraft to the companies. Some do allow animals, some do not.

For finding a charter company, It is best to look at CharterX.com That is a good way to find out who operates in your area, a local opperator is always going to be the most cost effective. DO NOT go through a broker. They are nothing more than middle men and while they claim they will take care of every detail for you, so will nearly every charter company, and they won’t charge you for their time. I just saw a trip my company booked through a broker, the broker made a $3,500 comission on a $12,000 trip. The customer could have called us and gotten the same rate minus the broker fee and had the same or better service.

Tipping the pilots is not necessary, although if they are helpful throw them a 20 each and write a letter to the company they work for.
