Anybody have any info on these 1966 Bahama Islands coins?
HI I have some Bahama Islands coins, but have no info on them and would like to find out how much they are worth. They came in a set of 9 coins that i got at a garage sale maybe 6 years ago, and since them I have lost two of the coins so now the set contains only 7.
The coins have Queen Elizabeth II on them.
heres the coins:
5 Dollar 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
2 Dollar 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
1 Dollar 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
15 Cent 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
10 Cent 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
5 Cent 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
1 Cent 1966 Bahama Islands Coin
They are all in pretty good shape, but the case is somewhat dirty and is missing two coins and in the box it says “Royal Mint” with a little symbol.
Does anybody have any information on these coins and know the value?
THANKS greatly appreciated
Can anybody give me an estimated value of each one of the coins?
You have a mint set from the Bahama Islands, it had a mintage of 75,050 and at the time sold for $16. Today book value is $20. Since not all the coins are there it has no value as a mint set. The 1 dollar coin is .800 silver with .4666 oz actual silver weight and the $2 (.8863 oz actual silver weight) & $5 (1.2527 oz of actual silver weight)dollar coins are ,925 silver, The value of those coins depends on the price of silver at the time of sale. By the looks of things it is best to sell the top 3 coins and toss the rest. It is not uncommon for mint sets to actually sell for less than if one sells the larger denominations separately. Hope this helps.
