Riu Hotel: A piece of paradise in the Bahamas Paradise Island
Just got back from the Bahamas yesterday. Absolutely beautiful once you're in the hotel. Travel the hotel is not the best thing to see. Hotel is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is located on the beach. Our room was clean. He had great view of the pool and ocean. We just eat at the buffet the whole trip, food was average. I do not think the specialty is more worth the wait in line, though I heard the food was very good on the grill. The cocktails are strong and give you your money's worth. Love is all inclusive.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Food was very good, a different theme every night. the Bahamas the night was our favorite. The rooms were fine, but you do not spend much time there, with swimming pool and pool bar. I'll go again a year from now and I can not wait. Riu recommend any of the others who visited him on the island.
Down side: only Beer cans have MGD, entertainment is good, but I wish there was dancing, and street vendors, but that is everywhere in the Bahamas. Also refrigerator in the room not very cold. Shares only two days each way. This hotel is the best, there can be no luxury rooms, but who needs it. I look forward again, I miss the place now! It is a much better deal than the hotel next to the left, it takes three minutes walk and worth watching, but not staying at. Le love this place!
They do not offer room service and not allowed to bring food from the restaurants. We suggest you bring snacks for the times when restaurants closed. There is a charge for using your phone in your room (even with a calling card) and have no phone. We used the public telephone at the Atlantis Resort, which was only a short walk next door.
There is a delicatessen, a supermarket a few blocks away, near the Blue Marlin, a good restaurant. Water and snacks are cheaper than the hotel. It will save the purchase of shirts and things in Nassau. Green Turtle Marina is a nice change of pace reasonable drinks and a happy hour long.
Beware the seagulls when eating out. Wheel and deal with vendors watercraft reduce the cost. straw market is nominal, but you can get good deals on the matter. They will also harass buy, if not interested just say "no thanks." Carry in your memory on the plane, I was a theft of my luggage. Dolphin Encounters is a necessity, it is worth the price to swim with them.
